An estimated 1 out of every 6 women experiences troubling depression or anxiety after the birth or adoption of her child. If it lasts longer than a couple of weeks or if your symptoms are severe enough to interfere with your daily routine, it's time to seek help.

If you think that you may be suffering from postpartum depression, it is important to contact your health care provider as soon as possible to start getting help. Please call if we can help you connect with resources in the Ottawa community.

You are not alone. There is help. You will get better.

Postpartum Depression Support is now offered through Family Services à la famille Ottawa.

For more information, please call (613) 725-3601 ext. 117

Tip of the Day
When your family is going through hard times, such as the death of a family member, help your child deal with the situation by asking the librarian at your public library for titles of books written for children.
